Recipe of the week


1 pound steak cut into strips

1/4 cup soy sauce

1/3 cup chinese wine

2 tbsps of flour

1/3 cup chicken stock

1 tbsp oil

1 tbsp sugar

1 tbsp pepper

2 green peppers

1 red pepper

1 onion

2 garlic cloves

2 tsps fresh ginger minced

3 spring onions chopped

4 tbsps oil



Combine beef, 1 tbsp soy sauce and 1 tbsp wine in a bowl and toss to coat. Leave to marinate for 20 mins.

Meanwhile, combine remaining soy sauce with flour and stir to form a paste. Add remaining wine, chicken stock, oil, sugar and pepper. Set aside. Combine peppers and onions in a bowl and set aside. Combine garlic, giner and spring onions in a bowl and set aside.

Heat oil in a wok and add beef and cook, stirring until beef is pink in middle, about 1 minute. Remove beef from wok and add peppers and onions to wok, stirring until veg is lightly charred. Toss with beef and set aside. Add garlic/ginger/spring onion mixture to wok and add noodles and cook for around 2 minutes until noodles are soft. Add all ingredients into wok and cook through. Stir sauce and pour into wok (it should immediately begin to boil). Toss all ingredients  to coat in sauce and cook untll lightly thickened about 30 seconds. Transfer to plate and serve.
